The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has arrested 40 suspects in connection with various criminal offences.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, ASP Mariam Yusuf, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, NAN reports.
Yusuf listed the offences to include: car snatching, drug peddling, armed robbery and public nuisance within the territory.
She said the suspects were arrested during coordinated raids and patrols along Abaji, Gwarinpa, Asokoro, Jabi-Daki Biyu and Mabushi axis of the city between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24.
According to her, one White Toyota Hilux, one Toyota Corolla, one locally fabricated rifle, 21 unexpended cartridges and one machine gun were recovered from the suspects.

The FCT Police Command has arrested 40 suspects for car snatching, drug peddling, armed robbery and public nuisance, along Abaji, Gwarinpa, Asokoro, Jabi-Daki Biyu and Mabushi axis.
According to the Command’s Spokesperson, ASP Yusuf Mariam, in a statement to newsmen on Sunday, the suspects were arrested during coordinated raids and patrols between 18th-24th February, 2021.
The suspects names were given as “Tijani Zariwa 25 years, Shamsudeen Abdullahi 20 years, Muktari Mohammed 48 years, Yahaya Abdullahi 20 years, Abbas Mohammed 24 years, Suleiman Audu 19 years, Abubakar Baba 34 years, Hudu Garba 24 years, Sadiq Isa 20 years, Yusuf Ali 18 years, Abu Momoh Samuel, Simon Ndagi 34 years and one female Nwanse Precious 22 years amongst others.
