RICHMOND, Va. The man shot by a Richmond Police officer on New Year s Eve was charged with multiple crimes, according to a Richmond Police spokesperson.
Officer Ja-Ontay Wilson shot and wounded Orlando J. Carter Jr. on Coalter Street when police said Carter pointed a gun at the officer.

th Street and Fairmount Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop and was pursued to the 1300 block of Coalter Street where the vehicle crashed, a Richmond Police spokesperson wrote in an email.
