Belmont unveils new CityWorks Center along East Catawba Street
A new government hub in Belmont has made things a little easier for city employees since it opened this spring.
Before Belmont’s CityWorks Center opened in April, the city’s departments were scattered primarily between three dated buildings in downtown Belmont: City Hall on Main Street, the J. Paul Ford Center on Woodrow Avenue and the planning department building behind City Hall.
Belmont’s administration, finance, planning and zoning, parks and recreation, public works, customer service and water billing, and engineering departments now all operate in the same 75,000-square-feet facility, located at 1401 E. Catawba St. near Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park and the Catawba River.
