Four St Charles Nurses Honored For Outstanding Care

Four St. Charles Health System nurses have been honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®, recognizing the outstanding, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day: Bend: Caitlin Reid, Critical Care Madras: Yvonne Sullivan, ED Prineville: Kaitlynn Thomasson, Medical Services Redmond: Melodin Trammel, Main OR Nominated by patients, families and colleagues, the award recipients were chosen by a committee at St. Charles. The nurses who represent all four St. Charles hospitals in Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville were recognized with a ceremony on their respective units and presented with a certificate, a pin and a "healer's touch" sculpture by their hospital's chief nursing officer. The DAISY honorees will also receive ongoing benefits, such as special rates for tuition and ANCC certification. Noyes Nursing Director honored with Leadership Award Derowitsch heads Noyes’ Medical Surgery in-patient nursing staff and supervises the continuing clinical education programs Staff reports DANSVILLE UR Medicine | Noyes Health administration presented Patricia Derowitsch RN, BSN, Director of Noyes’ Acute Care, Nursing Education and Community Outreach programs, with the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Derowitsch heads Noyes’ Medical Surgery in-patient nursing staff and supervises the continuing clinical education programs. “Patty received so many nominations from her staff and her peers which mentioned the respect she shows to all, and for the understanding, encouragement and patience she demonstrates – particularly in these challenging times,” says Tammy West, RN, Noyes’ Chief Nursing Officer. “Patty deserves this recognition, and our thanks.”

Extraordinary Nurse Recognized At VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital

A nurse at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital (VCU Health CMH)was recently honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses ®. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day. Lindsey Satterwhite, RN, BSN, in the Vascular Lab and Brooklyn Procise, RN, in Acute Care were nominated for the award for their contributions to excellent patient care. The DAISY Award was given to Connie Puryear, RN, BSN, Clinical Nurse II, in Home Health and Hospice, for exemplary care of a patient and their family in their time of need. The daughter of the patient submitted a heart-felt nomination that included, “I saw the relief roll off my parents when Connie walked in the door. She was their angel there to support them. I hope VCU Health CMH is proud knowing Connie is a part of their organization. When our time comes I hope we have an angel like Connie.”
