1. South-East Governors, yesterday, established a security outfit, EBUBE AGU, to curtail the rising insecurity in the region. Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum, Dave Umahi, made the announcement on Sunday.
2. Nigerian Land and Air Army, during the weekend, eliminated scores of insurgents who stormed the Damasak town, Borno State in five gun trucks. Two soldiers were also killed in the process.
3. Unknown gunmen, yesterday, abducted a Catholic Priest, Rev. Prof. Izu Marcell Onyeocha at Ihube Community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Godson Ikeokwu confirmed the incident.
Onyeocha, who was kidnapped along the Ihube – Okigwe highway by unknown gunmen was set free on Monday.
The Imo State Police Command spokesman, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the priest’s release.
Earlier reports say that Onyeocha, a Philosophy lecturer at the Imo State University, Owerri, was kidnapped after his vehicle broke down on the busy expressway Sunday night.
In a statement, Orlando revealed that one Bissong Isa Atugu who was in the same Nissan Exterra SUV with the priest said Fulani herdsmen allegedly took the priest away after inflicting him with machete cuts.

The priest was said to have been abducted around 7:00 am on Sunday at Ihube community in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State along Enugu -Port Harcourt Express Road.
