CAPE TOWN - Police in Lady Frere are probing a triple murder case after three elderly women were found dead inside their homes.
The victims, aged between 67 and 81, were found dead in two houses at the Zingqolweni Locality on Thursday night.
No arrests have been made.
Suspicion arose when neighbours in the area noticed no activity at the homes of the three elderly women.

An ANC ward councillor and three other people have been arrested in connection with this week’s mob justice attack in Lady Frere where five young men were burnt alive, while two more were hanged on Wednesday.
On Friday, ANC ward 17 councillor in Emalahleni Local Municipality, Hluphekile Bobotyane, 62, briefly appeared in the Cacadu Magistrate s Court in connection with the killing of five of the men.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luxolo Tyali said Bobotyane has been charged with five counts of murder “for now”, pending further investigation.

CAPE TOWN – Four people were arrested on Thursday night in connection with a mob attack in which seven people were killed in the Eastern Cape.
One of the suspects is believed to be a local ward councillor in the Zingqolweni locality.
In Wednesday evening s attack in Lady Frere, four men were set alight and their bodies were found in a field.
Police later found the bodies of two more men hanging in a forest.
