The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state during the September 19th, 2020 governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has denied reports that there is a crisis in the APC over his alleged ambition to submit himself for the position of chairmanship of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
A statement by Ize-Iyamu said he is focused on the legal quest of the party to obtain justice “and establish the truth in court over subsisting suits on issues surrounding the last governorship election held in the state.”

Anxiety has gripped some members and supporters of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Ize Iyamu, in the September 19, 2020 governorship election as the Federal High Court in Abuja would today (Saturday) rule on an alleged forgery and perjury case brought against the governor by the APC and a member of the party, William Edobor.
After exchange of legal fireworks on the pre-election suits, the parties on Thursday adopted their written addresses and the presiding judge Justice Ahmed Muhammed fixed today for ruling.

The All Progressives Congress says it has set up a panel to probe its loss in the last governorship election in Edo State.
Governor Godwin Obaseki, who defected from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, defeated the APC candidate, Ize Iyamu, in the governorship poll.
The APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee disclosed on Friday that the party had set up a panel to probe its loss.
In a New Year message by its National Secretary, Senator John Udoedehe, the APC CECPC noted that the probe panel was set on its advice to the party.
Udoedehe said, “In the course of the year, since the beginning of the tenure of CECPC, we have led the party into major elections, such as governorship, National Assembly and state Assembly elections. In these elections, the party did once again prove that it is the party to reckon with in the country with significant wins across the board.
