A teenager drowned Sunday evening while swimming with friends in Mercer Lake in Minocqua.  According to the Minocqua Police Department, Maxwell Pipp, 18, of Ixonia was riding a pontoon boat on the lake, when he decided to get in the water. Oneida County Medical Examiner Crystal Schaub told WXPR Pipp had a seizure while in the water and drowned.  He was not wearing a life jacket.  Mutiple agencies assisted the Minocqua Police Department in the response.  Update: An early version of this article stated Pipp went under while being towed by the boat, per the Minocqua Police Department. It s been updated to say he drowned after having a seizure as according to the Oneida County Medical Examiner and friends of the family.
