Commissioners wait to support Scenic River designation for Paint Creek
CHILLICOTHE- The Ross County Commissioners will wait for approval from the Ross County Engineer before supporting a Scenic River designation for Paint Creek.
Ross County Engineer Charlie Ortman said that he simply wishes to take time to work out a memo of understanding with the program to ensure that Ross County can maintain or replace bridges over the Scenic River Corridor. We all want nice streams and rivers, said Ortman. We have quite an investment in infrastructure along those designated routes - millions and millions of dollars. We want to make sure that when it comes time to maintain or replace them we can get back in there and do just that without undue financial distress.
