Malacañang names ex-DICT asec as NPC executive director

Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) assistant secretary Ivin Ronald Alzona as the new executive director of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

Alzona took his oath of officelast April 8 before privacy commissioner Raymund Liboro. “You came at a very opportune time; you came at the time that the NPC is in its prime development stage,” Liboro said.
From handling management and operations of the DICT since 2018, Alzona takes on a new challenge in managing the continuing digital transformation in data privacy regulatory practice.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has not formally announced it yet, but a new undersecretary and assistant secretary have been appointed at the agency by Malacanang.

Arnold “Ali” Atienza, son of former Manila mayor and now Buhay party-list representative Jose “Lito” Atienza, has been named undersecretary for government digital broadcast television and the digitalization of the entertainment industry sector. His appointment was signed by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in November last year, according to a media relations executive of the DICT.
