Panaji (Goa) [India], May 28 (ANI): Goa Health Minister Vishwajit P Rane on Friday informed that the Goa High Court has accepted Chief Minister Pramod Sawant government's decision to use Ivermectin medicine, an anti-parasitic drug, in the treatment of COVID-19 infection.
The Uttarakhand government will be distributing Ivermectin, an antiparasitic drug, among the residents of the state as a preventive medicine against the spread of COVID-19, a senior official said.

As demands for ivermectin skyrocketed in the last few weeks following report of new studies indicating it could be effective in treating COVID-19, health experts say Nigerians need to be careful about the indiscriminate use of the drug.

Owners of pharmaceutical retail outlets say the cost of ivermectin has soared in the last two months, following an unusual rise in demand for the drug.
They said that the high demand for the drug may have been spurred by studies and reports claiming that it was effective in the treatment of COVID-19.
COVID-19 treatment: Osinbajo meets Nigerian researchers

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has welcomed efforts by a team of Nigerian professors and scientists investigating the effectiveness of, and roles that Ivermectin drug can play in the treatment of COVID-19.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, disclosed this on Tuesday in a statement titled, ‘Osinbajo welcomes COVID-19 research group’s report on likely prevention and treatment drug’.
According to Akande, the team, which has Nigerian scholars at home and abroad as members, has submitted report on the usefulness of the drug to the World Health Organisation which has already appointed a peer review expert from the United Kingdom.
