Singapore: The largest global sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), returned Friday with ONE: UNBREAKABLE II. The explosive card featured six compelling bouts contested under mixed martial arts and kickboxing rules, all of which ended by knockout, technical knockout, or submission.
In the main event, former ONE Heavyweight World Title challenger Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli executed a fantastic game plan to spoil the much-anticipated promotional debut of Abdulbasir “Dagestan Machine” Vagabov. Cerilli used the entire length of the Circle, avoiding Vagabov’s powerful right hand while looking to counter with his own haymakers. In the second round, Cerilli hurt Vagabov with a low kick, sending the Russian reeling toward the Circle Wall. Cerilli then sealed the win with a steady stream of ground strikes that forced the referee to halt the contest.
Alain Ngalani (4-5) vs. Oumar Kane (1-0)
Powerhouses Ngalani and Reug Reug look for dominant win
Arguably the two most powerful athletes on the ONE roster square off this Friday as the 45-year-old Ngalani, one of the faces of the promotion for more than seven years now, takes on the debuting Reug Reug Kane.
Kane went viral for his wrestling match in Senegal, where he is one of their most recognized athletes. He then transitioned to MMA in 2019.
Kane is only one match into his professional MMA career, but that hasn t stopped fans from getting excited about what the 28-year-old Senegalese can do. In his first bout, Kane took on a 6-3 opponent who had previously competed and won at Cage Warriors, Britain s biggest MMA promotion. However, Kane showed no fear and dominated the fight with his wrestling, winning in the second round by TKO. Now he ll face Ngalani, who is a viral sensation in his own right looking for his first win in nearly three years.
After kicking off 2021 in style, ONE Championship is set to return with the second installment of its UNBREAKABLE event series. This coming Friday, 29 January, the world’s largest martial arts organization will air ONE: UNBREAKABLE II from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
In the main event, former ONE Heavyweight World Title challenger Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli will meet Russian hard-hitter Abdulbasir “Dagestan Machine” Vagabov. The colossal headline attraction will feature a battle between European heavyweight champions.
Cerilli is an Italian Mixed Martial Arts champion who owns a 13-4 professional record with an impressive 69 percent finishing rate.
Although the Terracina native is known as a knockout artist, he also owns three submission victories. Cerilli displayed those grappling skills when he took four-time Muay Thai and Kickboxing heavyweight world champion Alain “The Panther” Ngalani to the ground and finished him with knees to the head.
