i got no hits. lori, you said why didn t ratner just stay on and host the show and get his message of apology out. more importantly, i am guessing his resignation was 50% of firing. what do you think happened behind the scene? i think it was one of those things where it either resigns or we fire you. he was pressured out. i agree with you. also i do think if you want to punish ratner, make him watch a glee yts marathon. i love glee yts. after one episode of glee the novelty wore off. i like jane. you have to watch a bunch of episodes and be sick or something. there are people over here wretching. if it was called hate i would like it.
entirely true. i do think there are people in this particular case, there may be young, gay people who this might be hurtful to them. i think if we start perpetuating the idea that somebody that you don t even know that you have never met throws a clumsy, offhand come meant, it is somehow wounding to you. we are not helping anybody. you are supposed to teach people to say, it is not worth getting upset about this crap. the guy is a loser. ratner is a loser. and the thing, obviously, there is not many bigger losers than brett ratner. but the point is his one comment doesn t matter, but if it is over and over again and particularly for young people, like adults can shrug it off more easily. but if you hear stuff like that over and over again it might wear on you. i don t know. young adults are in better shape, so they can shrug faster. they can do more shrugs. i still do shrugs, but not as fast as i used to.
they actually should come out and say that s disgusting, but they would rather focus on a comment. they would rather focus on whatever gets them attention. whatever gets them attention, whatever gets them in the media, whatever helps drive their fundraising, that s what they care about. here is the thing. there was a tweet earlier that this was an attack on free speech. is it in fact free speech? is it t wasn t like ratner was arrested. and also the academy, and i wish it was, is not america. it is not a democracy. you can get fired for doing stuff like that. we can rightly get fired for doing stuff like that. don t go through my e-mails, news corp. i hate when people say that. it shows they don t know what it is. losing your job because you said something stupid in public is not a violation. look, ratner should have come out and said you know what, i apologize. it should be end of story. instead he came out and did
this whole ridiculous letter. half of your sentence is the issue, ratner should come out. that would solve everything. they would hire him immediately. he has to have education and he will have to commit to doing a movie where the centerpiece is bullying. and will have to star chaz bono. and it will be pre screened by glad, and it will get advisors, tons of advisors, and he will become known for this as part of his wheel house. why doesn t he host the academy awards with something like 40 million viewers and use that to get the message across? you were right on that, eddie murphy did not want to do that. i like my kathy lee and hoda and i like my regis. he was looking for a way out. and this just gave it to him. it takes weeks of your life. wait, the tease is next?
