Georgetown President Awards Four Distinguished Professors for Classroom Contributions, Research

The Georgetown University Office of the President announced the four winners of the 2024 President’s Awards for Distinguished Scholar-Teachers March 15.  Faculty nominated the 2024 winners Finance Professor Reena Aggarwal, Biology Professor Sarah Stewart Johnson, Neuroscience Professor Kathleen Anne Maguire-Zeiss and History Professor Adam Rothman last fall for the award, which has recognized.

Race, Power and Justice at GU Pilot Class Finishes, Broadens Perspectives on Diverse Issues – The Hoya

Starting in Fall 2024, every Georgetown University first-year will take a one-credit course titled “Race, Power and Justice at Georgetown,” which will introduce them to the GU272+ the 314 enslaved people whom the Maryland Jesuits sold in 1838 to finance the continued operations of a near-bankrupt university as well as global justice efforts.
