ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) When in-person learning resumes next month in Ithaca, a testing program for COVID-19 will begin.
Superintendent Doctor Luvelle Brown says the testing program is voluntary for students and staff. The program itself will be a non-invasive form of antigen testing. Brown says that although the Ithaca City School District hasn’t been identified as a Yellow Zone under new state guidelines, they’ll be following those guidelines and test 20 percent of in-person students and staff at each school over two-week periods.
The testing is not mandatory. In-person learning will begin Monday, January 4th. Tags:

Once everyone returns, Brown writes “a COVID-19 testing program will be implemented to support in-person learning for those who’ve selected that option,” adding coordination of the testing program is ongoing.
