The flash flood in the Teesta river in Sikkim has resulted in the recovery of 32 bodies, including nine Armymen, with over 100 people still missing. Around 41,870 people have been affected by the flood, and 2,563 people have been rescued. Special radars, drones, and Army dogs have been deployed for search operations.
Fifty-six people have been rescued in North Sikkim s Chungthang following a flash flood, according to the ITBP. 81 people are still missing, with 30 bodies having been found so far. Over 2,500 people have been rescued and over 6,800 people are taking shelter in relief camps across the state. More than 1,300 houses and 13 bridges have been damaged.
