Grant provides resources to help build next big Minnesota business
Launch Minnesota â an initiative of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) designed to elevate Minnesota as a national leader in innovation â has awarded $450,000 from its Education Grants program to six organizations to continue the development of our statewide innovation ecosystem.Â
The Launch Minnesota Network is designed to help startups from across Minnesota get the resources and support they need to build the next big companies that will grow our stateâs economy and create jobs. A collaboration that spans the whole state, it is connected by eight hubs for startup support that include 85 program partners. The Launch Minnesota Network builds, connects and coordinates key resources that entrepreneurs need to get started and grow. Â

Local restaurants encourage diners to support United Way
Throughout the months of October and November, local restaurants teamed up with United Way of 1000 Lakes to participate in this yearâs Dining United, which helps to raise funds for their annual campaign. Participating restaurants included 17th Street Grill, Bixbys, Brewed Awakenings, Culverâs, Forest Lake Lounge and downstairs steakhouse, Locker Room Bar and Grill, Pickled Loon Saloon, Rapids Brewing Company, Toivoâs Restaurant and Sports Bar, Unwined Up North and Zorbaz on Pokegama Lake. Each restaurant donated a percentage of sales from breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items to United Way and raised over $4,800 to support individuals and families hoping to reach their highest potential in the Itasca Area.
