Sherwood in the Forest with Rosie: Exploring East Hill Campus Trail

MPNnow East Hill is practically in Rosie’s backyard (she wants you to think that, anyway). That’s where we headed this week to soak up spring after a late April snow shower hammered the Bristol Hills. Enter at 6486 East Hill Road (off Italy Valley Road) in Naples, where a parking lot, map and trail signs point to the Finger Lakes Community College East Hill Campus. Trail access from the outdoor campus, which is used for hiking, camping, wildlife and nature classes, leads right to the state High Tor Wildlife Management Area. Thanks to land donations from conservationist George Fraley and the Finger Lakes Land Trust, you can hike from East Hill to thousands of acres of state land. If Rosie would only pack us a lunch, we could hike from this campus all the way to the Appalachian Trail.
