COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One of Columbus’ most popular pizza shops is revamping its patio space on North High Street. The fenced-in, concrete patio sandwiched between brick buildings and bars offers reprieve from bustling sidewalks along the Short North. A Dublin developer is proposing a five-story apartment building on North Fourth Street in Italian Village, the latest in a string of new apartments in the neighborhood.
Roby Development is seeking permission to build a brick-and-glass structure containing 53 apartments on the site of what is now the HYER Hookah Lounge at 1020 N. Fourth St. across from the Fox in the Snow cafe. I love the location for many reasons, said Joel Roby, president of Roby Development. I think Fourth Street will soon become the next Short North because it has parking. This is a good, walkable neighborhood.
Preliminary plans submitted to the Italian Village Commission show an L-shaped building fronting the North Fourth Street sidewalk.
