looking at the political ramifications, the real truth is there needs to be a conversation on race when it comes to the black community and what is real racism. we know democrats often when they didn t like a policy proposal of the republicans, they ll say it s racist. so now the real meaning of racism has been diluted. it s because instances that the democrats have continued to allege that didn t exist. this is a real act of racism and now we have a lame duck racist governor in a state mansion in virginia. neil: molly, you touched on this. you think had he not been pushing this legislation that would have allowed late term as in day of abortions, that any of this would have come to light? apparently the washington post is reporting this came to light is because people were upset he was pushing that and that it got released. neil: it wasn t a democrat that released it. we don t know. we know someone was upset about the comments, which were extreme. many democrats should be as
flexibility on negotiating down and talking down the price on it. is your sense that the two sides are closer than you think and an emergency measure might not be necessary at all? i don t get that seasons. i don t believe the democrats have defined yet what a win looks like for them. for us, a win is $5.7 billion for a wall. neil: but you wouldn t accept it if it was $3.7 billion? no, look, a crooked number in wall funding, something that doesn t start with a 1 but a 2 or 3 would be a good spot. democrats have not put a border security bill on the floor. nancy pelosi challenged the president. pass what the republicans believe in so we can better negotiate. we did that. what democrats haven t done is what they believe for border security on the floor. the inability to to that shows that there may be no bill that nancy pelosi can pass with democrat votes on the border. you have a part of her caucus that would support wall funding
whether they support this extreme bill that was just passed in new york, tried to be passed in virginia. vermont is looking for something nor extreme. it s a problem for democrats. they did a good job of denouncing the photo, which show the ku klux klan outfit there s some we haven t heard from. we have not heard from barack obama and the major press conferences when they say they want to impeach president trump. we haven t seen it to the same caliber as republicans. let s be clear about that. and he makes a good point. we need an across-the-board standard. whether republican or democrat, if you appear or have this in your past, step town now before step has to out you. let s make sure we clean the slate and go forward in america with policies that are against these sorts of issues of racial discrimination or bias in our community. it s not a partisan issue or republican or democratic. president obama, president
