you hear it all the time in d.c., scare tactics over potential cuts in social security berths, but did you know that cuts in social security checks are already happening? it s a part of a bipartisan plan to fix medicare payments to doctors during the obama administration. well, my family just found this out the hard way, steve, this just got personal. my folks called me up, they re my lovely folks, and said, look, we ve got $500 a month less in our social security checks. and that s not supposed to be cut into. apparently in order to do the doc fix, the government decided it s okay to dock social security checks, it s not right. it isn t right. the contract for social security, it s not a welfare program, you re paying into it all your working life to get certain benefits promised when you retire, to cheat people like that, like a company saying we owe you a certain amount for your annuity, your income is too high and so we re
for. here is something where for the first time in 40 years we went south on an ally which has our allies questioning america s commitment to them and dividing the country. it isn t right. it s okay to have a point of view. it s not okay on your way out to try to throw molotov cocktails into a foreign policy that s very complicated. i think it s reckless. ateam that, the other part of this is president obama and his allies have said they are not going to go quietly into the night. is he going to stay in washington, d.c. they are going to continue oppose some of trump s positions. you can understand the frustration of incoming administration not only are they not getting a smooth transition but perpetual opposition? again, spicer himself, incoming press secretary have praised. others have said it s quite different. you can go back to that point. obviously there is varying perspectives on this. but obama is staying in washington because his daughter is finishing high school last
they cheated american families, crashed the economy, got bailed out. now the biggest banks are even bigger than they were when they were too big to fail in 2008. they still swagger through washington, blocking reforms and pushing around agency. a kid gets caught with a few ounces of pot and goes to jail. but a big bank launders drug money and no one gets arrested. the game is rigged. it isn t right. [ applause ] as the congresswoman said, she talks, senator warren that is, about the american people agree the system is rigged. a recent poll from pew found 62% say the economic system unfairly favors powerful interests. how do we change this? we have to start with undoing things like citizens united.
my mom used to say, if it isn t right, don t do it. wait until it s right. don t do it half baked. this is the government. interesting how their marketing team has been told there are reports the marketing team has been told, don t do this full court press, we re not quite ready yet. yesterday if you were watching football, you may have seen healthcare.gov advertisement that we re going to be showing you coming up in our 8:00 o clock hour. it s kind of bizarre. if you re asking people to go to the web site, but you think you re only going to be able to handle 50,000 people, is this really a good idea? when 40 million people are watching football, there is an ad. we ll have much more coming up. but first headlines. fox news alert. two people are dead after a police chase ends in a firey crash in ohio. a car speeding over 125 miles per hour was being chased by troopers when it hit a mini van. both vehicles burst into flames. both people in the mini van died. their names are not b
to do with the court. the most devastating of last night is the role we have to play with our children. explain why a boy walking in his neighborhood after buying candy is dead. what did you say? you know what i said is, that it isn t right. that the most important thing we can do is understand we have to thank the jury. i mean, the jury did its job. it took the evidence into account and made their decision. we have to respect that. the issue here is whether or not we in america are going to have an honest and truthful conversation about whether race is still relevant in our lives. and the answer for my children is unquestioned. it s yes. that s part of why they re stunned. it s not just about, to your point, the legal finding and
