continue forward. i do want to ask you, because your cape coral resident, where we saw the strongest winds of the day, by the way, right near the landfall hurricane, have you been able to check in with your parents and your wife in the situation that s been playing out back home? so it s not funny. i was almost like the that i was to go to. right. so everybody lost power. everybody lost wi-fi. everything probably around 12:00 p.m. eastern time. and so they weren t in contact with anything. i was getting texts from coworkers, my wife, friends, family all day long asking for updates. where s the where s the storm? are we passed it? is there going to be a break? what does it look like? and it was up to the minute info that i was sending to them. and so it was quite a day. all right. so there you go . and many florida had to evacuate before it hits . and so that s just something

repair. what are the steps in place for the aftermath as the storm goes north into other states, maybe hopefully out to the atlantic eventually? governor desantis: well, of is look as you mention, sean, we want people to be safe when it hits and so that is our number one focus now. once it hits, if there are people that are in need of rescue, you know, we got massive amounts of assets. i got national guard. i got urban search and rescue teams. we have assets from other states. we have florida fish and while left that have water operations. i have the coast guard helping out. so those operations as soon as it is safe to do, they will go and if needed, they will go, try to help people. but once you have that situation taken care of, of course, you want to resume services and so getting the power back on, making sure fuel is in the gas stations and making sure people have communications and so we have now between all of our utility companies, it does

the gulf. david jolly, we talked a lot about how accustomed to the preparations that go into a storm like this, but this is at the end of the day a traumatic event. it is unpredictable. even people who know the most about it have seen them are talking about the last-minute turns that this storm took. just tell me what it s like preparing for a storm like this as it hits. well, and covering it as well, nicolle, because this is part of the human story. we re kind of fascinated with the power of mother nature and the weather and the rising seas and the winds. but we still right now very much are in the active stage of preserving human life and providing for human safety. all of the preparation over the last several days, and florida is a state that is well experienced with this preparation, was to address humane safety and human life.
