we never lost power in downtown tampa. i ve been out here all night and power has been here the entire time. the fear is it might be out not just for a couple of days but for weeks depending on how severe it was. that s not the case. didn t even see it flicker. i did see earlier tonight a couple of transformers blue. but there hasn t been an issue with the power. i ve been watching these puddles and it is picking up enough to blow bubbles off of them. you feel a change in weather where it is feeling like okay maybe the next wave is coming towards us. wind kicking up and very calm for a few minutes. we also know that here in tampa they were not responding to emergency calls. but looks like they are make something concessions. i just saw a city of tampa ambulance drive down the street. streets have been cleared. saw a few people out but now people have been staying off the streets here in tampa which is what they wanted.
you ll see it flicker on and off. and while the wind is a problem, it s always the storm surge that are the potential deadly threat they bring. we re expecting 7 to 11 feet for storm surge. we got a little bit of good news. the eye, the projected forecast for the eye to be a little further out over the water. that s great news. the problem is, by the time the eye gets up here, it will be right around high tide. so it s going to be much higher and we an tess pate that water will find ways inland into the intercoastal waterway. so all of those beautiful properties could expect to see some water into their homes and some of the businesses closer to
