motorcade arrived at the new york attorney general s office for a deposition. we are getting new details about the fbi search. the former president s lawyer said trump s legal team was in talks with the justice department about records stored at mar-a-lago in the spring. she added the search warrant indicated an investigation io the handling of classified material. they said that they were looking for classied documents. evidence of a crime of classified documents goes. two sources familiar say fbi agents arrived monday morning at 9:00 a.m.nd left around 30 p.m. the sect service was given a heads up. trump called the search unnecessary as well as politically motivated but didn t provide any evidence. joining us is justice and intelligence correspondent ken dilanian. ken, whacan we expect from the former president s deposition today? that s actually a bit of an interesting mystery because there is this is a civil investigation into donald trump s business practices and
to do so at this time. just want your reaction to that in contrast to what we saw in the republican memo. i know it seems incredibly unfair to release one memo and not the other, it flies in the face of all of our interests in transparency and public disclosure. but the fisa application process is secret, and the justice department has worked for 40 years to never reveal the contents of those fisa applications. and so while i know we are very skeptical considering the source, i do think there s likely merit to the fact that there may be things that need to be redacted before this document can be disclosed. i want to ask you about one other line. quote, we are treating the committee s action as a request pursuant to the constitutional authority. there was a piece by an attorney from the department of justice saying this is really a decisio th intelligence committee can make. it dsn t need the president to approve the release of this memo. i wonder when you make of that argument. is
