president trump is refusing to apologize for using the word lynching to describe the impeachment inquiry against him. in fact he s doubling down. the president first used the word in a tweet that said all republicans must remember they re witnessing a lynching. this is a word associated with a period of horrific racial violence in the united states. president trump went on to defend his rhetoric even amid backlash from civil right leaders and he did it in front of the white house while on his way to a historically black college. it s a word that many democrats have used. many people have used it over the years. it s a word that s been used many times. it didn t stop there. once at benedict college in south carolina trump likened the impeachment inquiry to the
