what s going on in the market today. we have a sell-off underway. the market will open in 10 minutes and you ll see the market open down 600 points. why? because there are worries about the impact of a debt crisis in china. the second largest property developer a company called ever grand and it is missing its debt payments. the ccp has already come out and said this company will not be able to pay its debt payments which one payment is due this upcoming thursday. investors are speculating on whether or not u.s. banks are going to be on the hook for some of this. so beijing has to make a decision. is it going to come in and save ever grand and pay the debt payments? will it cherry pick and pay other debt payments of other property developers? ever grand is china s second largest property developer and that s what s going on today. don t forget what s happening in washington we have nine legislative days left to deal with the debt
safety measures helping people with credit card issues. my point is you can t cherry pick who they are and what they are about and say that s what the party is about. i hear you. but i have to say if you are copping out and say you won t call the president the president you can say a lot of substantive thoughtful things and people will hear that louder than anything else. they are we know that. scott you smile because that is, mana to the republican ears certainly the president s zbleers when balm wab i called him president obama. i call nancy pelosi speaker pelosi called me old fashioned you by i respect people who won elections and bestowed the responsibilities but if you want to role the beautiful bean foot annual and whether we are calling president trump the president or not that s fiep. that s not sounding reasonable to the average american voter in middle america. all donald trump has though do is win states the he won last time and lose a couple to retain the white house. i
are sworn to secrecy, everybody is under that umbrella, statute of limitations, they vary depending upon the crime, but wow, that is a broad reach for the grand jury, and sometimes, in some respects, more dangerous for the trump organization. is it your view though that michael cohen revealed more? it s just lawmakers were hearing it perhaps for the first time, but sdny, they already know all the stuff. they already know. they already know this stuff. so it may not necessarily promote i guess new investigations, would it? no, i don t think so. because he was already cooperating with mueller. he was already cooperating with sdny. but what i found was very, very interesting, was that the republicans on the committee, you know, they didn t believe anything that this witness had to say, except for one statement, and that was about the collusion, you know, you can t, you can t cherry pick
i get that part . if you re making a political argument that s going to unnerve members of congress, b, bob mueller the special prosecutor is a close friend of james comey. i don t think trashing james comey, especially if you re doing it in ways that are false is going to help your legal case. you re already seeing trump people start to trash bob mueller, so this is a part of maybe it s a couple step strategy to try to make this look like a part son witch hunt and pull him into it. no one on the hill is going to very few people on the hill are going to buy into that. but to rally the base, to keep that 37% loyal, they re going to keep on doing that. one of the curious parts of this is the president saying i ve been vindicated by james comey and then calling him a liar. and if you look at the way that james comey delivered his testimony, he made it very hard. i think he even said this in the testimony. you can t cherry pick what you want out of this. that s what you re seeing t
i had the distinct impression that no matter what he had said in describing what comey had said yesterday under oath, trump would have been denying it. everything he said, that didn t happen, that didn t happen. he could have said anything. trump is just quite willing in the moment to deny the truth. he s quite willing to do it, and he did it again today. and, chris, it reminded me actually when i was a prosecutor in the courtroom, and it was always a losing argument when the defense attorney wanted to take and accept the most favorable pieces of testimony from a damaging witness that helped third client right. but then throw out anything that hurt their client. that never works in a courtroom. in the court of public opinion, i don t think the president doing it today will work either. and tell how he did it. right. he did it by saying i accept his testimony that i wasn t a direct target of the investigation, that my campaign was, and that s going to be my evidence that
