Dilanka Isuru Kumara of Sri Lanka won the Men s 55kg Bronze medal & Clean & Jerk Silver medal at Asian Weightlifting Championships 2021 held in Uzbekistan.
Dilanka Isuru Kumara won the bronze medal at the last 2019 Asian championships in China in the 55kg was expected to do well in the same weight category this time.
Four Sri Lankan weightlifters are at Uzbekistan to compete in the Asian Weightlifting Championship which is scheduled to be held from April 18 to 26 as the first international competition in 16 months.
The team includes Commonwealth Games Silver medallist Indika Dissanayaka (73Kg), Dilanka Isuru Kumara (55Kg), Thilanka Palangasinghe (61Kg) and Chathurika Priyanthi (81Kg).
