Isro chairman S Somanath says social sensitivity must not be compromised in a world shaped and driven today by artificial intelligence (AI). AI will start ruling many things in the future, according to Somanath.
Former ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar stated that the global space economy will reach $1 trillion and India needs private investment to increase its share from 2-4% to 20%. Kumar emphasized the importance of private entrepreneurs in achieving this goal. He made these remarks at the launch of LIBF EXPO 2024 in Gandhinagar.
Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set ISRO a target to launch the Bharatiya Space Station by 2035 and land an Indian astronaut on the moon by 2040.
Somanath pointed out that even vacancies in engineering colleges were getting filled after Chandrayaan-3 mission success, since there is better demand for core engineering streams. "This is a motivational factor on how a great scientific experiment put appropriate in front of people can create a big impact," he said.
