The New York Times says Biden is trying to “salvage” the deal that Trump “repudiated.” This technically isn’t true. “Repudiated” means that you refuse to accept something. Iran had an agreement with the United States and the United States violated that agreement, thus killing the deal. Biden’s not trying to salvage the agreement, he’s trying to reboot it. Despite this fact, the U.S. has consistently acted as if Iran are the ones who need to be making concessions.
