holds true is that a jury that s coming out and asking to review evidence is a jury that s working well together. they may not have reached agreement on all counts yet. they may still be working through the evidence, but there s reason to believe that their efforts are being productive. and like you say, jose, this all happens in context. and in southern georgia down in brunswick where this is taking place, no one can fail to understand the context. because georgia has had problems for many years with law enforcement essentially enforcing against black people for the crime of driving while black or being in the wrong neighborhood while black. so this context when that 9-1-1 call is made isn t lost on anyone on this jury. i wonder, joyce j do you think the holiday tomorrow, changes the calculus most defense and prosecuting attorneys have about the length of deliberations could impact the verdict? you know, it well could.
doctor, thanks very much for being here. your thoughts as you watched all of this play out this afternoon. well, i think it isn t lost on anyone that kyle s release was the same release that we saw when he actually testified. you know, we have a young man that was in the wrong place at the right time. 12 jurors have spoken that heard all the evidence, that took the time, that weighed the jury instructions, that asked for reviewing some of the video. so i think there s no one that can fault this jury for taking the time that they did. and also, i think it s important to note that with the polarization of the country over this case and clearly what will
0 rittenhouse has to get on with his life the best he can. the attorney said i don t think he will continue to live in this area saying it s too dangerous. he s had 24/7 security since this all happened. john, great to be covering this breaking news with you. i m sandra smith. john: and i m john roberts taking off next week so have a good thanksgiving. the story with martha starts now. martha: thank you very much, john and sandra. good afternoon. i m martha maccallum. breaking right now on the story, not guilty verdicts for kyle rittenhouse as we look at the live scene outside of the courthouse in kenosha, wisconsin. a place that we have all become much more familiar with over the course of this trial and over the remembrance last summer of the violence that spilled in to the streets and what we saw take place on that august evening in 2020. so we have just heard from his attorney moments ago. we heard some of what his take-away was in terms of this case and as we just watched
should i say breaking meta news. i m going to bring in dave ingram. break down this rebranding from facebook to meta. not a total shock. there had been some rumors and speculation for the last couple weeks this is going to happen. but it is a significant signal of the way the company sees the facebook brand. yeah. that s exactly right. it s been confusing for some years where facebook means both that blue app and also the company that owns instagram and whatsapp and a few other divisions. so, part of what they re doing here is trying to make it a little more clear to people that facebook is this app. there are also instagram. there are other divisions within the company. they re creating this new parent company called meta. the timing isn t lost on everyone that facebook as a company, now meta, has been under scrutiny for weeks from the media and lawmakers over a variety of practices they have within the company. you have to wonder, and i wonder what your reporting shows
york, and he can clearly point to that. he has credentials in every way in that regard. and he also, i think, has, and will have good judgment on his running mate as distinguished from some of the other people. mayor, can you see why cory booker was upset with those comments, the ones that we played just prior to bringing you on, the comments from michael bloomberg? what do you think about that? well, let me tell you, cory booker is my daughter s candidate, at least in california and in the primary, something that disturbed me a little bit because i thought she should have really kind of consulted with her dad. but she was so impressed with his presentation, so impressed with how he conducted himself, that she ends up going around california introducing him. and clearly, it isn t lost on anybody that she is willie brown s daughter doing just that. so, she s cashing in kind of on the franchise. and so is cory booker. what she says about cory booker
