mike: tell me what your product does. go ahead and tell me as you make your oil spill. making a lot of spills today. i feel like the greatest polluter of all time polluter of all time. this is biodegradable. mike: this is all natural product. all natural. the various elements that we have around us. forgot one little thing. mike: okay. see, here is what happens. just when you have oil, of course. mike: don t sling it too much. it was an expensive suit. mike: was. salvation army, i have a garment coming your way soon. this is going to soak up the oil. it s quick. one of the advantages of our product is that it also tends to suck up bensines and
ended up finding that it got so close to our shore. that is what put us into action. we developed a plan consistent of barges and booms, oil absorbent and containment boom to battle the oil, if you will. mike: you didn t wait to get permission from the federal government or b.p. you said this is our town, our community, and kind of like sheriff mike from walton county, florida, said we re going to protect our own people and our own property. is that the way you looked at it? yes, sir, you re exactly right. from the beginning, saturday, the first saturday in may, we had what we thought would be a small meeting but had about 30 towns people there. that s where a lot of the ideas came out. it consisted of several ways to break up the waves action. we narrowed the group down on the following sunday to about ten. at that point, was when we
a lot of uses. it s used in food, ear plug, dental floss and line the inside of a bagpipe. it bet you didn t know that? according to dr. joseph resnick it can be used to clean up the oil in the gulf of mexico. doctor, welcome. good to have you here. pleasure to be here. it d like to offer condolences to all the folks who lost someone in the b.p. oil spill. offer my best wishes to everyone in the gulf of mexico. we re here to help out. mike: tell us what you ve got that is based on beeswax. we re going to simulate an oil spill. mike: simulated a lot of them. we ll equal b.p. s oil spill before it s over. some other oil in the other one. part of my development working with nasa, i developed the method to create micro-capsules. these are made from beeswax that contain indigenous organisms typically found just anywhere. these are pseudomonans for
it. you can see look at the difference between the feathers. this was one dipped in the oil. this is one without the oil. it s pretty amazing. and so, bill, this product, how much of the product do you have available you could offer on the gulf coast? we have 1.4 million tons. mike: tons. not pounds. tons. tons of proven reserves. mike: has anybody from b.p. called you? no. mike: john, this looks to me like this is an all hands on deck moment, where we re seeing a lot of different products. we still have a couple to show. but doesn t this make sense that we would bring everyone s idea to the gulf coast and deal with this? maybe there is not one thing that is the magic bullet but a lot of different bullets all of which have their own level of magic. i think what we are seeing here is a super example of american ingenuity. if we turn things over to people who have the experience and the knowledge and capability, they can solve the problem. mike: bill, i want to say
mike: there are several different products. the hay has worked. lots of things. by the way, just so the audience will know, we had literally dozens of options and i know somebody is going to say i know some things look, we knew a lot of things we couldn t get to in the show. i m not sure we ll get to all the things we ve got for you. this is an example. you have feathers, how does that work. put more oil in there. mike: okay. put a feather down there. put a feather in the oil. mike: act like that is a pelican. okay. put it in the compound. mike: oil on me, joe. rub it on the compound. put it in dawn. totally cleans it. mike: so there is no oil on my hands from that. okay. now, this would also work, i mean you could put your hand down there, right? correct. mike: i can put my hand down there. put your hand down there and put it in there and clean it and shake somebody s hand. mike: let s just see.
