sort of protect that recovery and stay that course by keeping this consistency here. it s also a name that s probably not going to get a lot of opposition in the senate, though who knows. everything seems to be able to create some opposition in the senate from republicans. but powell has had bipartisan support in the past. so he is someone that should be able to withstand a confirmation process. he is not necessarily the number one pick by the more progressive wing of the democratic party, who wanted to see someone more aligned with their views on banking reform and climate change, but probably not going to create a lot of concern there. so it is a consistent, stable pick for a president who has really seen his poll numbers take a major hit when it comes to handling of the economy and these key issues like inflation, which of course the fed can do a lot to address when it comes to interest rates and other levers they can pull on the monetary policy front, steph. and president biden w

facts, how difficult has this been on the defense? the burden son the prosecution. that being said did you see a strength at all in any of the cases? i think travis mcmichael s testimony went in mostly unchallenged. we heard the prosecutor cross-examine him but not a focused examination. she let him repeat his narrative about what he thought. she didn t drill down to his lack of training. he came ac ross as a law enforszment officer. i m concerned the jury may buy into that. we heard testimony from people in that neighborhood trying to corroborate mcmichael s testimony there was a lot of crime going on. leaving out the evidence of racial prejudice i think that
jose? cal, thanks. and maya, what do you think of the prosecution s closing argument? we all saw it and heard it right here on msnbc. i thought she did a fantastic job. she showed up to do the job the prosecution has to do. as cal said, it s really making plain to the jury, here s what you re going to be asked to decide. and it s your decision. who do you believe? and walking the jury not just through each count, but the evidence that the prosecution submitted, both to show that there s evidence that this actually is a crime, are crimes, but it s also to eviscerate the defense and go to the credibility of travis mcmichaels, who took the stand and remember, her cross-examination of him was excellent, because she was really able to establish and she is reminding the jury of this in the closing, that he did not
