tonight there are also those on the left that say first critical race theory isn t being taught in schools. you are confused. it s not really happening. in the alternative there are those that say it s just an alternate theory we shouldn t be pushing it off the table. you should be hearing all-american history and philosophy. here s the fascinating thing about that perspective, congressman, critical race theory leaves no room for dissent or disagreement. it says there is no room for debate. it is in its own estimation the only one true real history of the united states. and it doesn t want to hear any other version, so how do we allow this ideology into our schools? to be frank, we don t. i think if they want to do critical race theory, they should hold the next symposium at shelter done whitehouse s beach resort he has there in his state. the fact of the matter is very, very simple. we cannot have a divisive ideology being permeated in our schools. what the theorists want to talk ab
k-12 schools. you re clearly conflating it with the 1619 project. ma do you want taught about u.s. slavery and racism, nothing? already learning confederate race theory by joy reid. wow, guy, give me your reaction to that tweet from joy reid. i mean, i think almost literally every single thing in it was incorrect. [laughter] you know, maybe joy reid, she ll claim that she was hacked again. here s why i think what pompeo said was important. because even a few years ago folks might say, well, he sing being dramatic. and the excesses on this campus, it s a weird foible, it s sort of a side story. and a lot of conservatives said when these kids get into the real world, it s going to be an awaken for them. but the reality the real world is being reshape by them.
there are things that need to be negotiated. and i think joe manchin realizes that. but the guts of it, jake, is voting rights. it has a lot of other pieces. it has, for example, public financing of elections. it has a lot of other pieces in it. but the important part for me is protecting voting rights, and i think that s becoming more urgent by the day based upon what s going on around in the states. and, jake, there s an important point here. there are two things going on with voting rights. one is getting a lot of publicity, the other not so much. the publicity is about things like limiting absentee ballots and early voting and all of those kinds of things. the other piece, though, jake, that isn t being talked about, a lots of states are considering changes that the legislature could essentially overturn the

that is a long term goal. there is a problem right now that isn t being addressed by the current administration. seems if the administration is the tone deaf the entire way. i understand addressing root causes. we are a giving nation. there are root causes here at home. there are cities devastated, especially coming out of the pandemic. businesses suffering. we need people to get back to work. we got problems here with homelessness, needles everywhere. there are some root causes here but i also want them to address the root causes with the cartel. are you going out to the criminal enterprises there? are you going to put pressure on those countries,. carley: mexico. mexico. it doesn t seem like there has been a real interest of that. anyway the former president had a big rally yesterday. he said he have handed biden a secure border and they just blew it up. take a look. there is no better example of
