steve: well, you know, supposition was that they might not do anything, given the fact that those banks did fail. but they raised it a quarter point. they could have raised it, you know, if they were really serious about inflation, they could have raised it half a point. that would have just freaked people out. the action yesterday after the fed head jerome powell said interest rates may top out this year at 5.25. that is so much more. remember, a year ago. it was zero. and now it s at 5%. this is even getting the attention of a prominent democrat, a congresswoman, who said that inflation thing is doing this for the average american. what the fed is doing and i m not going to second guess the fed. inflation is killing people in this country, it really is. people do live paycheck to paycheck. and they are struggling. what we need to try to do is focus on how we bring prices down. brian: right. that would be great. steve: the federal reserve

when you think about the january 6th attack on the capitol, the threats against the fbi, attempts to overturn the election, the former president floating pardons for insurrectionists, do you think that president biden is right about some parts of your party? i was very disappointed with his speech. look, as a family that has served and sacrificed for this country, you know, when i was stood up and was a voice for my husband and then went on for additional reform in the va, we were fighting for every democrat, republican and independent, disabled veteran in and their family. i was extremely disappointed because unity is not conformity. and i think president biden got that really, really mixed up. you know, in fact, debate is the cornerstone of democracy. you can ask patty murray when she comes on why she hasn t accepted debates that are on the calendar to debate me. healthy debate is who we are as a country. it s actually what makes us better.
