Sunday Seminoles Summary: FSU Softball looks to sweep Notre Dame at home after giving Coach Alameda her 700th win

TRACK & FIELD TEAMS DOMINATE AT TEXAS, NORTH FLORIDA

Florida State’s track & field teams competed at the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Fla. on Friday and at the University of Texas for the first day of their two-day meet. FSU’s men made the 200 meter field at the Texas Invitational look more like the Seminole Invite led by Amir Willis who won with a time of 20.25, which is among the Top 10 best times in FSU history.  Right on his heels was teammate Ismael Kone in second place with a time of 20.37.  More garnet and gold led the sprint with Denzell Feagin clocked at 20.58 in a fourth place finish and Taylor Banks took seventh with a time of 20.81. The Seminoles dominated the only other event in which they were entered in Austin with Jeremiah Davis winning the men’s long jump with a leap of 8.02 meters.  Jayden Rollins finished 12th with a top leap of 7.03 meters. BATON ROUGE, La.   Florida State’s Curtis Williams recorded a personal best and his first-ever collegiate win in the long jump at the LSU Alumni Invitational in Baton Rouge on Saturday.  Williams’ leap of 7.87 meters topped an outstanding field, and teammate Jaiden Rollins finished seventh in the event with a top jump of 7.26 meters. It was an outstanding day all around for the Seminoles who saw several personal best recorded including a win by multiple All-American Jeremiah Davis in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 16.78 meters.  In fact, the Noles had a very strong showing in the event with Kyvon Tatham taking sixth with a jump of 15.18 meters just ahead of Xavion Lockwood in seventh at 14.94 meters. Amir Willis finished second in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 20.30 and Milton Ingraham also finished runner-up in the men’s discus at 58.32 meters.
