We continue to mourn and offer our thoughts to his family, friends and millions who continue the needed work of improving our society in the aftermath of his untimely and unnecessary death. Throughout the last year, we have engaged in critically important community conversations to establish, build and strengthen relationships in the Fargo metro and beyond. These conversations have made all of us better and, while there is much work left to be done, we look forward to growing together and continuing to earn the public’s trust as we move towards a unified community.

People remembering George Floyd with nine minutes and 29 seconds of silence during rally in Fargo FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – About 70 people gathered in Fargo’s Island Park Tuesday evening to pray and pay their respects to George Floyd on the one-year anniversary of his killing by former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin.  Many took to the knee for nine minutes and 29 seconds, the time it took for Floyd to die. Bahati Numbi of Moorhead was among those in the crowd. She said this was a way to remind people not to forget people are still fighting to make others aware of racism and how the police play a role in it.
