The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād says its men attacked a police vehicle in Ondo State.   According to ISWAP in a statement seen by SaharaReporters, the attack which was carried out by “soldiers of the caliphate” occurred in Ipele, Owo Local Government Area of the state.

The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, has claimed that its fighters killed a soldier and a policeman during different attacks on security agencies’ checkpoints in Borno State. According to ISWAP, the soldier was killed during an attack on a military checkpoint in Gamboru, Ngala Local Government Area of the state. Gamboru, near Lake Chad, is a market town near the Cameroon border.

Human rights lawyer and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana has sued President Muhammadu Buhari over his administration’s failure to provide monitoring devices, close circuit televisions (CCTVs) and other instruments of restraint at correctional centres across the country. Also joined as defendants in the suit are the National Assembly and the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service. The lawsuit relied on Section 28 (1) of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act.

The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, has claimed that its fighters killed 4 Nigerian soldiers in Borno State. According to ISWAP, the soldiers were killed during an attack on a military checkpoint in Monguno. Monguno is about 70km drive from Maiduguri, the state capital which hosted thousands of IDPs mostly from Kukawa, Dikwa and Marte council areas.

Insurgents from the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, are currently attacking Gajiram, Borno State. Gajiram is the headquarters of Nganzai Local Government Area of the state. “The insurgents were said to have come in several trucks fitted with machine guns on Saturday morning,” Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad said in a confirmation of the attack.
