Russia conducted a drone attack on Ukraine, injuring nine people in Odesa, including four children. The injured, including two infants, were hospitalized along with three adults. The attack damaged several residential buildings, causing fires and damaging at least 14 apartments. Ukraine s air force reported that Russia launched 16 attack drones and two short-range Iskander ballistic missiles. Air defense systems intercepted 15 drones in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, and Kyiv, with all drones targeting Kyiv destroyed. Wreckage from a downed drone damaged a commercial building in Mykolaiv.
Explosions have erupted overnight near a plant outside Moscow that produces Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and Iskander ballistic missiles, and a drone has attacked a chemical plant that produces explosives in Russia's Bryansk Oblast.
Subcontractors of Russian enterprises that produce Kinzhal hypersonic missiles have so far avoided European sanctions, allowing them to import necessary goods from various EU countries, Russian outlet The Insider reported on Oct. 25.
