and it ended up being a decisive factor in the victory for abortion rights advocates in this state. a lot of credit has to be given to cannons for constitutional freedom. they are the manu bortion rights coalition that was pushing out the vote, and they had to overcome a lot for this decisive win here. not only are registered republicans outnumbering registered democrats in the state by a nearly 2-1 margin, this is deeply conservative state. they have a democratic mayor, yes, but the last two elections they voted for president trump. but as we mentioned, this voter turnout ended up being a huge factor. the numbers we saw last night were more indicative of a general election. and credit has to be given to that kansasans for constitutional freedom. also educating voters here that they could vote. this amendment was ambiguously worded in a way that voting yes on this amendment would have stripped abortion rights. a vote no would have kept the status quo here. the state constitut
largely degraded. the terrorist threat to the united states has morphed from isis to domestic-basised threats. we ve been looking for zawahirifor a very long time. as the president said we have brought justice to him. what is most disturbing to me is that the taliban sought to harbor this man in downtown kabul in the nation s capital in a very open and notorious way. and it s a real tribute to our national security team and our national security capability that we were able to take him out with a drone strike without apparently killing a single other individual even though his family probably slept just a few feet away. do you feel like that sent a strong message, then, to other terrorists? i do. and i think that one of the principle values of this strike is it does send a strong message
we thought it would lead to the release of isis prisoners, lead to greater instability in the region. we saw some of that. it puts into contrast our concerns about turkey s direction that they may be spinning out of the nato orbit. i have spoken publicly about that. turkey is a long-standing nato ally. they fought with us from korea to afghanistan and i think it s in all of our interest to mick sure we pull them in closer to nato and we preserve what is now a will soon be a 30 nation alliance, a very long-standing and capable alliance. a recent pent i don pentagt says president trump s partial withdrawal from syria allowed isis to, quote, reconstitute capabilities and resources within syria and strengthen its ability to plan attacks abroad. do you aa agree with that? i have not seen evidence of that. i think given our operations together with the sdf, given the operations undertaken by turkey,
