Time after time, education has proved to be a gateway to invaluable opportunities, not only for its direct participants and their families, but for the world as a whole. It is said that the value of education cannot be accurately quantified. As such, rewards such as honour, prestige and recognition have been perceived to be adequate measures of the value of education. More often than not, Nigeria has been a recipient of these rewards by virtue of her citizens who, home and abroad, are thriving in their careers. These careers span the fields of Law, Medicine, Engineering, Sports and the Arts.

Delta govt commissions two boat ambulances for use in riverine areas

As part of measures to bring medical services closer to the riverine communities, the Delta State Government has commissioned and handed over two boat ambulances for use in the ‘hard to reach communities’ in the State.
The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye handed over the boat ambulances during the commissioning and handover ceremony to Dr. Patrick Omu, Zonal Medical Director, Central Hospital Warri yesterday at Shell yard, Ogunu, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area.
Dr. Ononye listed the six beneficiary Council Areas to include Bomadi; Burutu; Patani; Warri North; Warri South and Warri South West with the charge to the Zonal Medical Director and the Executive Secretaries, Local Government Health Authorities to make judicious use of the boats for the benefit of the communities concerned.
Okowa, wife, Oborevwori, others get COVID-19 vaccine

GOVERNOR Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, his wife, Edit, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, members of the State Executive Council and President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Patience Elumeze, were Friday, vaccinated against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic as the State Government commenced the vaccination exercise.
Health workers were also vaccinated in the exercise which was held at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Asaba. Speaking after he was vaccinated, Okowa said the vaccine was approved by World Health Organisation, WHO and National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC and encouraged the people to take it.
