To change a person’s life for the better requires only a moment of time.
Keri Lynn Stromski lived her life by that motto as a teacher at Aquebogue Elementary School, where she inspired countless students, and as a fierce advocate for fellow cancer thrivers, an unforeseen role she accepted to bring hope to those in need as she bravely confronted her own fate with stage four breast cancer.
Jill Kubetz, Ms. Stromski’s sister, said that moment of time, along with compassion and a hug, can make all the difference.
“We know this because we hugged the entire Town of Riverhead over the past two days,” she said.

Agnes Economos
1931-1921
Agnes Jones Terry Economos, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Feb. 14, 2021, at the age of 89, after a long battle with Lewy body dementia.
Agnes was born in Southampton, N.Y., to Walter and Theresa (Hugel) Jones. She was valedictorian of Sacred Hearts School and graduated in 1949 from Southampton High School, where she was an avid volleyball player, gymnast and cheerleader. Upon graduation, she worked at Corwith Pharmacy in Southampton.
She married George Terry of Riverhead in 1951 and they resided in Riverhead. While raising their two girls, Agnes became an avid seamstress, which lasted her lifetime. Her love of all children led to working in a nursery school, becoming a Girl Scout leader and subsequently a job as a teacher’s aide at Phillips Avenue Elementary School. She was most proud of her work as an aide with special needs children. She also took classes in psychology and education at Suffolk County Community Coll
Teresa Lul
Riverhead resident Teresa Lul died Jan. 10, 2021, at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 83.
Ms. Lul was born Oct. 1, 1937, in Poland. She worked in housekeeping at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was a member of St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, where she sang in the choir. Family said she enjoyed cooking and was known for helping family members when they arrived here from Poland.
She is survived by her husband, Antoni; her sons, Andrew, Thomas and Jerry, all of Riverhead; her brother Daniel Gutowski; her sisters Marisa Godlewska and Regina Koziol; and one grandchild.
The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will follow at noon at St. Isidore R.C. Church. Interment will take place at St. Isidore Cemetery in Riverhead.
He was born in Riverhead Nov. 21, 1967, to Rosemary (Taglioreni) and Joseph W. Czulada Sr.
He earned an associate college degree and worked as a funeral director for various funeral homes in New York.
Predeceased by his father, Mr. Czulada is survived by his mother, of Riverhead; his sister, Jamie Delaney; his brother, John; and his daughter, Izabella.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, where a memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead is handling arrangements.
