Seahawks Star DK Metcalf s 100-Meter Dash Performance Was More Impressive Than Some Believe
Challenged by USA Track and Field to test his speed against some of the fastest sprinters in the world, Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf put up a more than respectable performance in the 100-meter in Sunday afternoon s Golden Games.

On a sunny Sunday afternoon in Walnut, California, Seahawks superstar wideout DK Metcalf momentarily exchanged his football cleats for track shoes.
After taking social media by storm with his famous chase-down of Cardinals safety Budda Baker last October, which registered at a top speed of 22.64 miles per hour according to Next Gen Stats, Metcalf was extended a tongue-in-cheek offer from USA Track and Field to test [his] speed against real speed.

DK Metcalf ran a credible 10.37 but finished last in the second heat of the men’s 100 meters at the 2021 USATF Golden Games at Mt. SAC on Sunday, failing to advance to the final later this afternoon. To qualify for the nine-person final, Metcalf would have had to have finished in the top three of his heat or earned one of the three time qualifiers; his time of 10.37 was .16 short of the final time qualifier,

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf ran the 100-meter dash in 10.36 seconds at the USATF Golden Games and Distance Open in Walnut, Calif., on Sunday, finishing ninth in his heat. His time was the third slowest of the 17 entrants in the men’s 100-meter dash. Just happy to be here, Metcalf said after the race. Just having the opportunity to come out here and run against these guys is a blessing.
When asked if he d like to come back and run in a different event, Metcalf, who stuck with the pack for the first half of the race before falling behind toward the end, joked that he s looking forward to attending the Seahawks minicamp.
