I am writing this on May 10, which corresponds to the 28th day of the Hebrew month of Iyar. On this Hebrew date in 1967, The Israel Defense Forces captured Jerusalem and General Motta Gur uttered the words "Har HaBayit BeYadeinu" – The Temple Mount is in our hands.

In Ralph Bunche Park, across from the United Nations on 42nd Street in New York City, is “The Isaiah Wall.”
Inscribed on the wall are the words of Isaiah 2, Verse 4, “They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” This is the promise of a world at peace. These words also inspired the Charter of the United Nations.
Isaiah promises no more national conflicts threatening life and no need for hypervigilance disturbing life’s tranquility. I maintain this mindset despite what I see on the mass media.
they were coming home from school june 12th when they were kidnapped and murdered. israel has the blamed ma mass. a gaza political party declared by the united states to be a terrorist organization. outrage spread around the world. in new york hundreds marched to the isaiah wall across from the united nations, demanding a swift response to the murder of children. when you murder in the name of god, you are desecrating god s name. reporter: the president issued a statement saying he urged all parties to refrain from steps that could further destabilize the situation. he said, as the israeli people deal with this tragedy, they have the full support and friendship of the united states. few here will object to israeli action against the murderers and their sponsors in hamas. hamas has not admitted nor denied any responsibility in these particular kidnappings. but they have praised the kidnappings and encouraged more of them.
