days, but we can t give up. we care too much about our country. so we re going to retool and rebuild. that s why i m optimistic about the future. the congressman ended his message by saying, quote, we are an incredible team. i hope we can stay in touch, end quote. a new amber alert tonight coming in the wake of that dramatic one that recently ended in idaho with the rescue of hannah anderson which we told you about earlier this hour. this one across the country in rhode island. a toddler is missing from the scene of a double murder. tonight the suspected killer is behind bars, but the little boy, 2 years old who lived with the people who were killed in that home, is nowhere to be found. brian yennis is following the story. do we know anything about where that child? harris, right now i can tell you that really the police have two suspects in custody. we have we have actually in connection with the double murder, abduction of the 2-year-old, isaiah perez.
still missing after he was taken from his home in johnson, rhode island, ten miles from providence where police found two people ted at approximately 5:20 this morning. he has black hair, brown eyes and may be wearing a bracelet on his right wrist. there are reports there are two other children inside the the home at the time of the murders. police issuing a statewide amber alert at 11:00 this morning for isaiah after neighbors say they saw a man fleeing the home where the double murder took place, the boy in hand. bryan, what do we know about the suspects at this point? johnson police in rhode island arrested daniel rodriguez from providence as the second suspect for the double murder and abduction of isaiah. the originally listed 22-year-old malcolm crow. when police arrested crow, isaiah was not with him. he does have a criminal background. in 2007 he was arrested for
fred. all right, thanks so much, miguel marquez, appreciate that. meantime, there are conflicting reports now about a suspect in a new amber alert for a missing 2-year-old rhode island boy. the suspect is identified as malcolm croel. nick valencia is following that story for us. con fliblgting because it s unclear whether the suspect was captured or not and also the whereabouts of the child. that s right. and bottom line is it s about this 2-year-old missing child. but my source at a local law enforcement agency in rhode island told me just a short time ago that the suspect malcolm cro crow ell 22 years old was arrested in custody about 30 to 45 minutes out of johnston, rhode island, where this whole incident developed early this morning. they did say this 2-year-old boy remained missing, 2-year-old isaiah perez. we re looking to get a photo of him to help bottom line this is about that missing child.
definitely in custody. but the bottom line here, don, is that a 2-year-old boy is still missing and that sis amber alert is still active. what is the relationship between this missing boy and michael crowell. reporter: we re trying to figure that out. we know there s a relationship between crowell and the victims in the house. we don t know what that is. investigators are holding their cards close to the chest on this one. they didn t release any more information on this besides saying this man you re looking at here is a suspect in connection with this case with the amber alert. isaiah perez, two years old. we re trying to get a picture of him as well. right now we only have a photo of the suspect in this case. that 2-year-old little boy still missing. thank you, nick valencia. on top of the story for us in atlanta. search and cleanup efforts are going on in colorado following incredible flooding. homes were damaged and property
