The Artistic Gymnastics Oceania Championships are being held in Auckland on Sunday, which will decide who from NZ and Australia, in both men’s and women’s events, will earn a quota spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Commonwealth Games medallist Georgia-Rose Brown has switched her allegiance from Australia to New Zealand, helping the 29-year-old realise a long-held dream to compete at the Olympic Games. Suzanne McFadden reports.
The senior group will participate on Saturday while the younger levels will compete on Sunday. “We have a senior session on Saturday at around 2 pm where the elite gymnasts will compete,” Albrey said.

New Zealand s elite gymnast Isabella Brett, of Christchurch, will be in action during the gymnastic event on Saturday. In that elite category, International gymnast Isabella Brett will trial for October’s World Championships to be held in Tokyo. “We host this South Island Champs every year, and it is generally a platform for the senior gymnasts to get prepared for the nationals, which is generally two to three weeks after our championships,” Albrey said.
