This weekend is going to be the coldest one of the winter, according to forecasters, who say the wind chill will drop below zero in some parts of the Hudson Valley. A blast of arctic air and strong winds are moving into the area tonight, AccuWeather Meteorologist Jake Sojda said on Thursday.
Following Tuesday s snowfall, colder air moved into the Northeast, which will cause temperatures to plummet Thursday night and continue to drop into the weekend. On Friday and Saturday the Hudson Valley will see wind chills of at least minus 10, or minus 15, said Sojda.
But with temperatures in the teens and gusty winds, it will feel well below zero at times, he said.

Though it will start off light, the snow will develop rather dramatically as we move further into the evening, according to Rinde.

At 4 or 5 p.m. we ll see some light snow starting to develop, and that s really going to go underway as the evening goes on, Rinde said. After 7 or 8 p.m. we will see the intensity start to increase. The worst of it will occur after 11 p.m. and continue up to 6 or 7 a.m.
