With the general elections less than a year away, the ANC in the Eastern Cape kicked its campaign into gear at the weekend, reminding supporters of what the government had delivered since 1994.
The ANC is so worried about its sustainability after the 2024 general elections that it has already devised a punitive plan for those it had deployed to government should they fail to garner enough votes for the party. And if its deployees fail to bring enough votes to ensure that the party remains in power, the levy they pay to the party could rise from the current 5% to 8% to fund the party.
The ANC has patted itself on the back for what it says was a good record of delivery and for changing the lives of millions of South Africans over the past 29 years.
