After an extensive trial and nearly three days of deliberation, a Santa Cruz County jury found a 29-year-old former Watsonville man guilty of gang-related first-degree murder this week.
“I would like my son to appear in your dreams and say, ‘Why did you do this?’ I hope my son doesn’t feel let you sleep in peace all the rest of your days,” said Alma Carrillo.
Violet Guzman and her family have waited 19 years for the killer of their 17-year-old family member, Isaac Guzman, to face a penalty for the Watsonville stabbing.
