double digit gaps. take hispanics not much better. texas, 52% of graduating seniors are hispanic, compose just 29% of its freshman class. colorado, arizona, kansas do slightly better. the worst is berkeley which cannot use race in admissions. through my entirety of being at berkeley i have only met two other black students within all of my classes i ve been in. everyone agrees, the fact is that this is in colleges, blacks are underrepresented especially at a place like berkeley. asian students that test higher than all students represent 43% of the class at berkeley, blacks just 3%, point is, if other states adopt the california model they ll use class rank and grade and zip codes, poverty and crime rates family education to account for race. bill: we wait for some of the
