Two women have been arrested, and another suspect remains at large after a shooting at an apartment complex in Irving left a mother and her daughter dead in.
Person of interest in Lubbock homicide surrenders in Irving
A 20-year-old man who Lubbock police officials say is a person of interest in a homicide earlier this month surrendered to police in Irving.
Leo Contreras was booked about 10:50 p.m. Friday into the Irving City Jail, according to jail records.
Lubbock police officials said on Wednesday that Contreras was a person of interest in a May 9 fatal shooting at a home in the 2800 block of North Quaker Avenue.
Police initially responded to a shots fired call that night. Responding officers found three homes with gunshot damage at the time.
The next day, officer doing a welfare check at a home in the same block found 69-year-old Willard Justice Jr. deceased in a residence that was not part of the initial shots fired investigation, the release states.

‘This is a horrific incident where two children were murdered,’ Reeves said.
